Video game leaks usually come from third parties with insider sources but this time Blizzard inadvertently leaked their own event in Overwatch patch notes on May 12.

Overwatch patch notes from May 12 were quite scarce, with the only changes coming to the Experimental mode where Blizzard are toying with the supports and possibly trying to do something with the meta.

However, the original post on Blizzard forums provided other information that proved to be much more engaging - the start date of Overwatch Anniversary 2020 and the list of skins. The post has since been fixed to not contain the details but it's the internet so we've got the goodies for you.

Overwatch Anniversary will start on May 19, 2020 and there are three legendary skins that have been announced:

  • Little Red Ashe
  • Dragoon Mercy
  • Masquerade Reaper

Those will not be the only skins added though as Blizzard stated there will be more additions. Furthermore, there are three skins that will be earned through challenges during each week of the event, possibly in the same manner as before - by winning nine games in a week.

Challenge skins are:

  • Carbon Fiber Sigma
  • Fleur de Lis Widowmaker
  • Masked McCree

As per usual, Anniversary events make all the cosmetics from previous events available for purchase.

The capture was made by Overfire, a Russian community that tends to post Overwatch leaks but it's highly possible they found themselves surprised that Blizzard gave them info this time around as opposed to data mining or other means of info gathering.
