Thanksgiving is upon us and that means sales and free weekends all around!
Blizzard is making their hero shooter available to all who wish to explore the world of Overwatch for free this holiday weekend. It's the standard procedure. Download the client, start it up and go hay-wire on the opposing team.
During the event, all maps, heroes and game modes (with the notable exception of the competitive mode) have been made available to the new and returning players. Those who choose to spend their Thanksgiving on Hanamura, Paris or any other in-game map will get to do so for free until 4 December.
All progress and loot box items earned during the free week will transfer over if you choose to buy the game, and will even wait for your return during the next free event. Speaking of purchasing Overwatch, you can, at the moment, do so at a reduced price. In fact, Blizzard is handing out Black Friday discounts all around:
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth's price has been slashed in half for its Standard, Digital Deluxe and Digital Deluxe Upgrade Edition. New players will also receive a 50 percent off their first-month subscription, provided they join the battle before 6 January 2020.
Overwatch Standard and Legendary Editions are 25 and 50 percent off, respectively. So you'll get to save some cash if you decide to buy the game at the end of the free week.
Other discounted games include StarCraft, Hearthstone, Diablo III and more.
