Capcom has officially detailed Onimusha: Way of the Sword‘s performance targets and PC requirements. The publisher released the technical specifications for the upcoming game ahead of its September 25 release.
Following a heavily praised free demo which broke past one million downloads earlier this week, Onimusha is once again making headlines. The information shows players will be able to take advantage of multiple graphics presets across consoles with PC players most likely depending on upscaling tech.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X, Onimusha: Way of the Sword features both Performance and Quality modes. Performance Mode upscales to 4K resolution while running at 60 frames-per-second on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
Capcom warns players that frame-rate may dip during “graphics-intensive moments.” Quality Mode upscales to 4K resolution and runs between 30 and 40 FPS.
Performance Mode on Xbox Series S upscales to 1080p with a frame-rate target of 60 FPS. Quality Mode upscales to 1080p and runs between 30 and 50 FPS.When it comes to Nintendo Switch 2, players can expect upscaled 1080p in TV mode and upscaled 900p resolution in handheld mode.
Frame-rate is targeted at 30 FPS by default, however if players enable Variable Framerate, the game will run between 30 and 40 FPS. Minimum PC requirements include either an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 processor, 16GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia GeForce GTX1660 (6GB) or AMD Radeon RX5500 XT (8GB) for graphics.
Expect 30 FPS at Low settings with these specs.Ultra settings require an Intel Core i5-12400 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700 processor, 16GB of RAM and either an RTX 4070 Ti (12GB) or Radeon RX 7900 XT (20GB) for graphics if gaming at 4K with a frame-rate target of 60 FPS.
Capcom confirmed Onimusha supports Nvidia DLSS 4.0, DLSS 4.5, and AMD FSR 3.1. However, there is currently no word on FSR 4.0 support which will likely disappoint some AMD fans who were hoping for the latest upscaling tech at launch.
