Dead By Daylight turned ten years old today, and Behaviour Interactive marked the occasion with a sold-out anniversary party in Montreal's Old Port, followed by a livestreamed Year 10 Anniversary Broadcast. More than 3,000 fans attended in person for dev panels, meet-and-greets, and an Art of Dead by Daylight mini-expo, but the headline news was for everyone watching at home.
Jason Voorhees is officially joining The Fog on 16 June as Chapter 40's new killer, marking the first time players have been able to control the Friday the 13th icon since the shutdown of the dedicated Friday the 13th game years ago. His kit leans heavily into stealth and map pressure, built around an ability called Omnipresent Evil that lets him enter a near-supernatural stealth mode and teleport across the map, catching survivors off guard in a way few other killers in the roster can replicate. Combined with ranged attacks, it sounds like one of the more disruptive additions to the game's killer lineup in some time.
Behaviour also used the occasion to hand out a sizeable birthday gift. Players can redeem the code DBD10BIRTHDAY for up to 10 million Bloodpoints, though the offer only runs until 16 June, so there is no time to sit on it. Co-founder and CEO Rémi Racine reflected on the milestone, noting that the game launched with initial sales forecasts of around 300,000 copies and has since passed 70 million players, with 2025 marking its most successful year yet.
A limited-edition 10th Anniversary Collector's Set is also now on sale through 31 July, featuring a Huntress and Sable Ward statue, a replica flashlight, pins, and a vinyl soundtrack, with no restock planned once it sells out. For a genre that started as a niche idea a decade ago, Dead by Daylight's anniversary numbers say plenty about how far asymmetric horror has come.
