Obsidian Entertainment studio head Feargus Urquhart has once again mentioned that he'd love to work on the Fallout series before he retires.
Obsidian Entertainment have been flirting with the Fallout franchise for a while now , stating repeatedly that they would be open to working on a new Fallout game again.
In a recent interview with Game Pressure , Obsidian studio head Feargus Urquhart said he would love to make another Fallout game before he eventually retires.
"We’re not working on it right now, our plate is pretty full with Avowed, Grounded and Outer Worlds 2. I don’t know when we’re going to start talking about new games, maybe towards the end of next year ," Feargus Urquhart said.
He added that there are no plans for a Fallout game by Obsidian at the moment, despite the information from reliable Jeff Grubb suggesting there are discussions at Microsoft to give the studio a chance to work on Fallout: New Vegas 2.
"We just have to see what’s going on. That’s the best way to say it. There’s nothing in the plans, nothing on the piece of paper that says that. But I’ll stick to what I said. I would love to make another Fallout before I retire," Urquhart explained.
Previously, Urquhart revealed that he would be surprised if Fallout is not on the list of games that Obsidian wants to do next , which is certainly encouraging.
We'll probably know if Obsidian's Fallout is happening or not after the studio wraps up the development of Avowed, their next big thing.
A new Fallout game by Obsidian is certainly an exciting idea for many fans of the studio and this postapocalyptic series. We sincerely hope Bethesda, Xbox and Obsidian find some common language regarding New Vegas 2, otherwise, we'll have to wait for Fallout 5, which won't be coming before 2030.
