NetherRealm Studios Community Manager Tyler Lansdown has shot down the idea of Shaggy's potential guest appearance in the upcoming fighter Mortal Kombat 11, sayin that Scooby Doo's goofball buddy will never appear in a Mortal Kombat game.
As confirmed by NetherRealm Studios Community Maganger Tyler Lansdown, the meme is now officially dead and you can stop dreaming about Shaggy's moves as he performs fatalities on Lui Kang.
In the latest Kombat Kast, which was streamed yesterday, 05 February 2019, players were spamming Shaggy requests in the Twitch chat, which made Lansdown stop, look directly in the camera and make it clear that Shaggy in Mortal Kombat just won't happen.
Mortal Kombat's official Twitter posted "RipShaggy" hashtag soon after that. While the whole thing was absurd, to begin with, there were some players who actually thought that Shaggy in Mortal Kombat was a great idea. They pointed out that it would be easy to get the job done since Warner Bros. own the franchise.
The petition to include Scooby Doo's goofball buddy in the iconic fighter recently reached more than 350,000 signatures on Change.org. Despite, the official response, the signatures are still arriving and the number is increasing every minute. It looks like Shaggy fans aren't giving up just yet.
While Shaggy isn't coming to Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm Studios have revealed two characters who are making a return to fighter roster - Kabal and D'Vorah. The developers didn't say how these characters will influence the story but have shown some of their moves and fatalities during the gameplay stream.
Kabal and D'vorah join who was revealed earlier, which means that the fighter roster now counts eleven officially confirmed characters. These three fighters are joining Scorpion, Baraka, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Geras, Skarlet and Shao Kahn who comes as a pre-order bonus.
