Warner Bros. and NetheRealm have officially announced holiday-themed events for their brutal fighter Mortal Kombat 11. The celebrations will run from 22 December 2019 to 02 January 2020.

Mortal Kombat 11 may be the most brutal instalment in the gory fighter series but that doesn't mean that the spirit of Christmas doesn't warm Sub Zero's heart from time to time. In the latest announcement, the publisher Warner Bros. and the developer NetherRealm Studios officially confirmed two holiday-themed events for Mortal Kombat 11.

These are actually separate events but both are made for the Towers of Time mode. Named Winter Wonderland, the first event officially kicks off on Sunday, 22 December 2019 and it will run until 27 December 2019. It brings three Towers with holiday-themed modifiers in form of falling Killer Kanes, Sledding Tarkatans, Parachuting Ginger Deadmen, Exploding Snowmen, Christmas Trees, Menorahs, Dreidels and Shooting Stars.

The second event is named Ring in the New Year and it starts soon after the first one ends - from 28 December 2019 to 02 January 2020. It features three Towers that allow players to usher in the new decade with party-themed modifiers, including a Disco Ball, Champagne Bottles, Party Poppers, Fireworks, and a Digital Countdown Clock to ring in the new year.

Both of these events will be available to all players and participating will earn you XP points, special skins, player module pieces and consumables. To be honest, if you play Mortal Kombat 11, this seems like a nice way to get some extra stuff by the end of the year and start the new year in the bloodiest possible way.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and now also on Google Stadia.
