Spawn became available in Mortal Kombat 11 only recently but he might already be a fan favourite. Other than the foul-mouthed entrances, Malebolgia's unwilling servant is also sporting 10 gloriously gory brutalities.
Mortal Kombat series' past crossovers were met with approval on several occasions as the creative talent in NetherRealm Studios tends to do the homework and provide an incarnation of characters that sit well with the fans.
It appears they hit the nail on the head once again with Spawn when they pulled the right moves on several occasions already - he is voiced by Keith David just like in the animated series in the late '90s and retains the profanity as opposed to being censored.
Now when he was finally released, Spawn made it apparent that NRS did him justice in gameplay aspects as well. Leetha of the 7th House of K is being used to full potential as chains and other hidden surprises are displayed in various useful ways throughout the combat but also through the 10 brutalities Spawn can perform.
While Sub-Zero fans will be disappointed to see that a guest character gets a spine rip instead of their favourite icicle factory but the rest are bound to enjoy it along with the mid-air slice that leaves an opponent separated in two equal halves.
Al Simmons' firearms also play a part in some brutalities but instead of describing each and every one of them, it might be better to just show them in action.
Longtime fans of the comic book character will likely be unsettled due to Spawn wasting Necroplasm on such theatrical displays but what good are those demon-given powers if the user doesn't go a bit insane with them from time to time?
