Nintendo have officially announced the acquisition in their latest press release, confirming they have entered into an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the outstanding shares of Next Level Games.

"Nintendo would like to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the outstanding shares of Next Level Games Inc. and to make it a wholly owned subsidiary," they wrote in the announcement.

Furthermore, Nintendo explain that the completion of the Acquisition will serve to secure the availability of Next Level Games development resources for Nintendo, including development expertise, as well as facilitate an anticipated improvement in development speed and quality by enabling closer communication and exchange of staff with the Nintendo development team.
