Nintendo has confirmed that Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will arrive on the Nintendo Switch in a bundle collection. Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 is scheduled to launch on October 2, 2025. It will port two of Mario’s beloved 3D platforming titles to current-gen hardware. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 have long been considered among Nintendo’s greatest triumphs.
This focused collection was made to allow veterans and newcomers alike to experience both entries in their unique space-traveling platforming escapades in a single package.
Performance upgrades for the Switch, alongside assorted bonus features, will be there for fans of the series to enjoy. Nintendo is also throwing in new collectibles and bonus content for the special occasion. The publisher is adding new features to make sure this release differentiates itself from past remakes and re-releases.
New Collectibles and Amiibo
In addition to the announcement of the collection, Nintendo also revealed some bonus goodies for fans of Super Mario Galaxy. A physical release of Rosalina’s Story Book will be available, which will have new pages added to it that expand on the history and lore of the Galaxy series.
As one of the most beloved characters to have been introduced in the Mario series, it’s only right that more is written about her. In addition, a new Super Mario Galaxy amiibo will be released on February 4, 2026.
As amiibo functionality has frequently been relegated to purely cosmetic or gameplay reward-granting, collectors and fans of the Galaxy games will have another reason to celebrate Mario’s latest space escapade.
