Blizzard's Rod Fergusson has confirmed that the developer have no plans to put Diablo 4 on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
Diablo 4 is certainly one of the most anticipated games of 2023 and many players are eager to finally get their hands on this dark action RPG which sparked some rumours mentioning Game Pass and Diablo 4 in the same sentence
Following these rumours that Diablo 4 could launch on Game Pass if Microsoft complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by the game's release date, Blizzard's Rod Fergusson has confirmed that they have no plans to put Diablo 4 on the popular subscription service.
"We’ve been getting some questions about [Diablo 4] on Game Pass and I want to let you know we have no plans for that," Fergusson tweeted.
Diablo 4 will be launching across all major platforms but Xbox's subscription service won't be adding this hack-and-slash RPG on launch. This is probably to due to the fact that Microsoft are yet to complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
The merger is expected to go through in the coming months but regardless of the outcome, Xbox and PC players will have to buy the game to play it. Even if the deal goes through before the release, we presume it would be too much of a hassle to have the game announced for Game Pass so late, given that a lot of players would have already spent their money on the game.
