According to the latest rumours, the next Call of Duty title will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As previously speculated the game will be a soft reboot of the original Black Ops series.

Rumours about the next Call of Duty game have been floating around the gaming forums and social media for quite some time now. Reliable leakers like Okami and TheGaming Revolution both confirmed that the game will be a soft reboot of Black Ops series, set during the Cold War era and in Vietnam.

Today, we have a new rumour from leaker Okami who claims that the new Call of Duty will be named Black Ops Cold War. This may seem unusual since the title is a lengthy one, unlike previous games but it does seem realistic that Activision would want to include Black Ops title since it is a fan-favourite series.

Activision are yet to officially announce the next Call of Duty title but the company did confirm earlier that the game is on track to launch later this year for all platforms.

It is possible that we see the announcement in the upcoming months, potentially at Sony or Xbox next-gen events which are rumoured for June and July, respectively.

As for Modern Warfare, the game is still doing pretty great and it is the most popular Call of Duty that ever released thanks to standalone title Warzone. Even Activision themselves have confirmed earlier that the next Call of Duty probably won't reach Modern Warfare in terms of sales and player numbers.
