Sledgehammer Games' map, which is supposed to be the third new map for Call of Duty Warzone should be coming this time next year. Until then, Actisivion plan to release big mid-year updates.
Activision's free-to-play battle royale title Call of Duty Warzone received a ton of content since its launch but we're still waiting for an official confirmation regarding the rumoured new map. As you may know, Call of Duty Warzone still features only one map - Verdansk - but rumour has it that a brand new map should be coming at the end of this season.
Today, we have some new details about Activision's plans for Call of Duty Warzone in the following months. Leaker Tom Henderson states that the game is set to receive major mid-year updates moving forward while the third Warzone map should be coming this time next year.
"Warzone will have massive mid-year updates moving forward. Sledgehammer Games' map isn't due to drop until this time next year and there might be delays to the weapon integrations like we saw with BOCW," Henderson tweeted.
Sledgehammer Games will take over Warzone development from Treyarch once Call of Duty 2021 officially releases. The team will integrate Warzone with the new game but it's also expected they will work on a brand new map, just like Henderson states.
As always with unconfirmed reports, take this with a dose of scepticism. Yes, the new map should be coming soon but until Activision officially announce it, this is just a rumour and nothing more.
