NetherRealm Studios have revealed insectoid character D'vorah and warrior Kabal as the latest additions to Mortal Kombat 11 roster. These fighters are returning to the series after a successful appearance in the previous installment.
Mortal Kombat 11 release date is inching closer and NetherRealm Studios have started to reveal bits of fighter roster in the past weeks.
The latest characters to make an appearance in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 are D'vorah and Kabal. Those who are familiar with the game's previous instalments will recognize the names - D'vorah debuted in Mortal Kombat X while Kabal dates back to MK3.
She can also throw large insects on the floor, which then charge at the opponent, while her Vortex Swarm ability releases a swarm of wasps from her hands into the floor that rise up under the enemy.
She was created specifically as a new character for Mortal Kombat X and this is her second appearance in the series.
Kabal, on the other hand, made his first appearance in 1995's Mortal Kombat 3 and has taken part in ten Mortal Kombat games since then. He was also included in Mortal Kombat X but not as a playable character. He only appeared in cameos of the Story Mode as one of Quan Chi's Revenants.
Kabal has the ability to shoot purple projectiles from his mask, summon sawblades from the ground and his Tornado Slam ability allows him to hook the opponent with hookswords and spins them around before slamming them onto the ground.
The developers showed some of these moves in the latest Kombat Kast but unfortunately didn't reveal the role these characters will have in Mortal Kombat 11's story mode.
D'vorah and Kabal will join previously confirmed characters such as Scorpion, Sub Zero, , Sonya Blade and Raiden among others. Currently, the fighter roster counts 11 characters and NetherRealm Studios will reveal more of them as we're getting closer to the release date, which is set for 23 April 2019.
If you're hoping that one of the characters could be Scooby Doo's Shaggy, the developers were clear that is not going to happen.
