NetherRealm Studios have revealed that Mortal Kombat 11 closed beta will take place from 28 March to 31 March 2019. The beta will be available only to those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. No PC version in sight.
NetherRealm Studios' upcoming brutal fighter Mortal Kombat 11 is just around the corner, and to give players a small hint of what exactly they are getting in the new instalment, the developers are hosting a closed beta test for those who trusted them with their wallets and pre-ordered the game.
The closed beta will run from 28 to 31 March 2019 and it will be available only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At the moment, it looks like PC and Switch players won't get to participate as the announcement doesn't mention the master race and Nintendo's console.
Unfortunately, NetherRealm didn't reveal many details and it's unknown what type of content will be included in the closed beta. The total number of fighters, arenas and game modes are still a mystery and hopefully, the developers reveal more as the start date gets closer.
The previous instalment in the series - Mortal Kombat X also had a beta test in which four combatants were available - Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage and Jacqui Briggs. It's possible that these fighters appear again in Mortal Kombat 11 closed beta as all of them are included in the fighter roster.
NetherRealm also just recently announced online stress test which is not to be confused with the closed beta. The stress test will run from 15 to 17 March 2019 and it will be available only to a limited number of players in North America. At the moment, the test is only confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, leaving PC and Switch players empty-handed for the second time.
Mortal Kombat 11 is out on 23 April 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
