NetherRealm will soon kick off a first beta for their upcoming fighting title Mortal Kombat 1, which will feature several characters and a couple of stages. So, here's all the details 

Mortal Kombat 1 closed beta is officially starting on August 18 and will run until August 21, 2023. The beta will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles only, meaning that PC and Switch players won't get to test the game before release.

To participate in the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, you'll need to pre-order any edition of the game on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. You'll automatically receive access on your console and can start downloading on August 15 at 11 a.m. EDT / 10 a.m. CDT / 8 a.m. PDT.

Mortal Kombat 1 closed beta fighters and kameos

Mortal Kombat 1 closed beta will feature a total of six main fighters including the fan favourites Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Johnny Cage, Kitana and Li Mei. As for the kameos, NetherRealm confirmed Kano, Sonya, Jax and Frost will be part of the beta.

During the closed beta, players will get to test their might on two stunning stages - The Teahouse and Johnny Cage's Mansion.

The beta will obviously require an internet connection since it features online 1v1 online multiplayer mode but you can also play the single-player Klassic Towers mode against the AI. 

PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live gold subscription will also be required to play the beta.
