Can your rig run the next Mortal Kombat? Most likely as it appears NRS did a good job optimising the game.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the next instalment in the franchise and a quasi-reboot even though it follows some plot points from the previous games.

As confusing as the MK timeline is, Liu Kang appears to want to usher in a new era and it seems like NetherRealm Studios , as well as Warner Bros , saw this is a great opportunity to draw new players to the franchise.

With that it mind, it only makes sense that the devs made the game rather accessible, as far as PC system requirements go.

Mortal Kombat 1 minimum system requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 or Ryzen 5 2600
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 or AMD RX 470 or Intel Arc A750
  • RAM: 8GB
  • DX 12
  • Space: 100 GB

Intel Arc A750 might surprise you as we are all used to just seeing Nvidia and AMD graphics cards around. The benchmarks so far have shown that A750 can actually compete with RTX 3060, making it more powerful than the other cards listed in minimum system requirements but it is possible Intel is still struggling with drivers.

Mortal Kombat 1 recommended PC specs

  • OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti or AMD RX 5700 XT or Intel Arc A770
  • RAM: 8GB
  • DX 12
  • Space: 100 GB

Surprisingly, even the recommended specs don't list anything more than 8 GB RAM, even though 16 GB became the standard long ago. The other components are roughly on par with PS5 and Xbox Series X hardware, suggesting this is not another terrible PC port, which became a trend recently.

Let's hope the actual performance holds up to that promise.
