League of Legends - Is LCS really in such a bad state?

The usual jokes aside, with the banter between EUW and NA about NA never winning any World Championships, the recent statistics show an alarming trend for LCS.

The League Championship Series, aka the LCS, is the top level of professional League of Legends in the United States and Canada. The esports league is run by Riot Game s and has ten franchise teams.

According to Esport charts, LCK  has the highest amount of average viewers from all the major regions, with 192.2K. Following the LCK comes the LEC with 172K average viewers.

The North American League, on the other hand, is in fifth place, with less than half of LEC's average viewers, it was announced recently by eSport Charts, at the end of the regular season.

The North American League has fewer viewers than even the Brazilian League, which surpasses it in every metric in existence, whether it's viewer number, hours watched, or even peak viewers.

Riot Games TSM Bjergsen When a veteran of the game says something is dying, it probably is

There are a number of factors that contribute to the apparent death of LCs, and Bjergsen is a prime example of one of them. In a recent game organized by Mr. Beast in Las Vegas, Bjergsen was supposed to be one of the participants. However, LCS forbid this professional player from attending.

Even though the publicity could only bring good things for the region, says Bjergsen, he was unable to play at the game, which was one of the highlights of this year's LoL events.

It shows that the region is suffering from a lack of proper management and long-term plans, leading to famous streamers saying outright, that the region is dying.
