This year has been nothing but one scandal after another in the eSports world of League of Legends, and very few of those were caused by Riot Games. Though, there have been misogyny lawsuits directed their way as well.
Recently, it was Peter Zhang who got the boot from the eSports world, and now, Carlos R. is getting a suspension.
Recently G2's CEO Carlos was seen celebrating a G2 victory with Andrew Tate, who is known for his misogynistic views, a pyramid scheme, being under investigation for sex trafficking, promoting violence against women, having fled from the UK for alleged sexual assault, his ties to organized crime, for which he has been banned from multiple social media platforms.
The party in question was in honor of G2's victory, which has pulled the organization into the mix, instead of just Carlos himself. In a series of Twitter posts, we can see Carlos defending his relationship with Andrew Tate, to being apologetic once he realized the scope of the outrage.
As a response, G2 have suspended, though they've stated it was a mutual decision, Carlos from his position as CEO for eight weeks, without pay.
A lot of personas from LoL eSports have spoken out against Carlos, with Perkz being the most relevant one. His tweets jokingly imply that it would be time for him, who carried the organization on his back for quite some time, to take over as CEO. And we tend to agree.
