The exact date for when the Heartache and Heartthrob skinlines will be released has not been announced yet. However, it is expected to be available with Patch 13.3, which is planned to be released on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
Valentine's Day is a holiday where people show their love and affection through gifts and greetings. It is celebrated every year on February 14th. League of Legends also gets in on the holiday by adding Valentine-themed items to the game.
Since 2012, the game's developer Riot has added new skins for Valentine's Day, starting with Heartseeker Vayne. Over the years, they have also created several iconic skin lines, such as Heartseeker, Debonair, Crystal Rose, and Withered Rose, specifically for Valentine's Day.
For the year 2023 , the game developer has announced a new skin line called Heartache and Heartthrob for the Valentine's Day event. The theme of the skins is inspired by high school romance and it includes unique skins for three champions, Vi, Caitlyn, and Amumu.
This isn't the first time that the champion Vi will be receiving a Valentine's Day skin. Previously, she has already had two different Valentine's Day skins, named Debonair Vi and Heartseeker Vi. The new Heartache Vi skin will be her third Valentine's Day skin. Heartache Vi will cost 1350 RP.
Caitlyn is a popular character not only in the game, but also outside of it. About a year ago, Riot released an animated show called "Arcane" that featured Caitlyn as one of the main characters. As the show gained popularity, so did its characters, including Caitlyn, which helped to increase her fame outside of the game.
The Amumu skin included in the Heartache and Heartthrob skin line is quite unexpected. The design of the skin appears to be a combination of the "Emumu" and "Almost-Prom King Amumu" skins, giving it a nostalgic feel reminiscent of the 2010s style. It is likely to be a surprise for many players and a new take on the character.
