The nerfs for Kassadin, Maokai, and Ryze will be included in the upcoming League of Legends patch, Patch 13.2, which is set to be released on January 25th, 2023.
The Preseason 2023 has been received with mixed feelings by the players. While it had some positive changes such as jungle changes, new tank mythics and minor buffs, it ultimately failed to bring significant changes to the meta and fell short of expectations when compared to previous seasons. The preseason was further marred by a disappointing cinematic and fan backlash, leaving many players disappointed.
To address the issues and concerns, Riot has announced that they are stepping up their game with League of Legends Patch 13.2. The patch is set to introduce some major changes that will shake up the meta and bring new strategies and gameplay experiences to the players. This is a step in the right direction for Riot, as they look to regain the trust and enthusiasm of the players.
Riot Games is introducing several significant changes in the upcoming patch, Patch 13.2. Among these changes are a comprehensive revamp of the fighter items, adjustments to items for AD Carry champions, changes to Grevious Wounds, as well as buffs and nerfs to selected champions that are deemed too powerful. This patch aims to shake up the meta and bring new strategies to the game.
Maokai
Currently, Maokai is the top Jungle champion in the meta, with an impressive 55% win rate and a high 25% ban rate. Additionally, he has a solid 13% pick rate among players.
Maokai is known for his high damage output and effective zone control, making him a formidable opponent for many players. Given his dominance, it is not surprising that Riot Games has decided to nerf him in the upcoming Patch 13.2.
Ryze
A few patches ago, Ryze was considered one of the weakest champions in the game, but with the introduction of new items such as the Rod of Ages and the rework of Seraphs Embrace, Ryze has become one of the strongest champions in the game, alongside Kassadin.
Given this dominance, Riot Games has decided to nerf Ryze in the upcoming patch, similar to the action they are taking with Kassadin.
Kassadin
Kassadin, a champion known for his strength against teams with high AP damage, has become a force to be reckoned with regardless of the opposing team's composition.
He's currently dominating in solo queue with an impressive 53% win rate and a staggering 44% ban rate, which is uncommon for a specialist champion like Kassadin. He's also seeing success in professional play, hence, it's understandable why Riot Games has decided to nerf him in the upcoming patch.
