Garena has announced on social media that the Riot SEA server will be launched on the morning of January 6th, 2023. At the same time, the Garena servers will also be shut down.

Because League of Legends is one of the most popular video games of all time, many people play at the same time. Riot has established servers all across the world to meet the demand. North America, Europe West, Europe Nordic & East, Brazil, Turkey, and others are among the most popular servers.

Despite the fact that these servers are located in various locations, they have one important feature: Riot Games controls them. Aside from the well-known Riot-controlled servers, third-party firms operate and manage servers. Garena had total authority over the SEA areas.

Approximately one month ago, Riot announced that its partnership with Garena would come to an end in 2023 and that it would begin publishing League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics  on its own servers in the SEA region in the same year.

Riot Games will transfer everything from your profile besides your ELO and ranking. This includes your username, masteries, skins, champions, emotes, friends list, RP and everything you have in your loot. In addition to the launch of the Riot SEA server, Riot has also announced a special welcome event for new players.

This event will offer rewards such as new champions and skins, including all champions released from 2009 to 2021 and the opportunity to earn a single Ultimate skin. Riot has also announced a number of offline League of Legends events that will take place in the SEA region.
