In this article, we delve into the specifics of the alterations to starting and support items, exploring the potential impact these changes will have on the game.

League of Legends players eagerly anticipate the preseason, a period of exciting transformations and fresh content introduced by Riot Games.

During this phase, players have the opportunity to experiment with these game-altering adjustments before the official season begins. Typically, the preseason spans from mid-November to mid-January, aligning with the start of the new season.

However, starting with Season 14, Riot Games has opted to unveil preseason changes earlier, offering players an early taste of what's to come.

The Preseason Buzz: Key Highlights

This year's preseason is brimming with substantial changes. Notable among them is the removal of Mythic Items, a significant departure from the current meta.

Items across the board are being streamlined and having their power levels adjusted. The champion K’Sante is undergoing a much-needed rework, the jungle is facing yet another round of nerfs, and perhaps most intriguingly, starting and support items are receiving substantial buffs.

A Closer Look at Starting Item Adjustments

  • Doran's Blade: Health has received a boost, increasing from 80 to 100, while Attack Damage has risen from 8 to 10.
  • Doran's Ring: Health sees an uptick, now standing at 90 from the previous 70, with Ability Power climbing from 15 to 18.
  • Dark Seal: Health is getting a modest increase, going from 40 to 50.
  • Doran's Shield: This defensive option now offers increased Health, jumping from 80 to 110. Additionally, Health Regeneration has been bumped up from a range of 0 - 40 to 0 - 45.
  • Spellthief’s Edge: The item's Health pool sees an enhancement, growing from 10 to 25. Ability Power also gets a slight bump, increasing from 8 to 10.
  • Spectral Sickle: Health is on the rise, going from 10 to 25, while Attack Damage receives a boost from 5 to 6.
  • Steel Shoulderguards: Health is bolstered, surging from 30 to 50, and Attack Damage climbs from 3 to 4.
  • Relic Shield: Health experiences an increase, rising from 30 to 50. Ability Power also sees a lift, going from 5 to 7.

These adjustments to starting items translate to significant health increases, alongside modest improvements in Attack Damage (AD), Ability Power (AP), and Health Regeneration.

Enhancements in Support Items

Support items receive similar treatment, with Health, AP, and AD all undergoing slight increases. These modifications are expected to make these items more appealing to players, ultimately leading to smoother laning phases for support champions.
