Jax, a veteran champion in the League since his debut in 2009, has always maintained his popularity due to the depth of his abilities. Over the years, his kit remained largely untouched, but earlier this year, he received a mini-rework aimed at modernizing his gameplay. Mini-reworks tweak a champion's abilities without altering their visual appearance, often with the goal of making them more viable in solo queue.
Originally, Riot intended to release a full Visual and Gameplay Update (VGU) for Jax. However, due to the extensive nature of the rework, it was split into two parts. The gameplay changes came first, introduced through the aforementioned mini-rework.
The Jax Visual Update has been eagerly anticipated and has truly delivered. Riot went all out, revamping his animations, visual effects (VFX), and voice-over. What's more, they added a charming fishing mini-game. Let's dive into how it works.

How to Fish
Fishing with Jax is a simple affair. Head over to the nearest river and remain idle. After a few moments, Jax will initiate a fishing animation, and you'll receive either a regular or golden fish.
An essential tip: To avoid being marked as AFK, press a non-gameplay key like "S" or "space" on your keyboard while fishing. This prevents any AFK penalties, allowing you to fully enjoy your peaceful fishing experience.
Passive Stats
Normal Fish
- Reward: 1 gold.
- Bonus: 1 temporary Ability Power (AP) for 5 seconds.
Golden Fish
- Reward: 10 gold.
- Bonus: 10 AP for 5 seconds.
