League of Legends patch 12.18 featured Nasus in their patch highlights. Upon not seeing him there, Riot Games explained that the buffs needed more tweaking, due to negative player feedback.
And now, in patch 12.19, Nasus is getting the buffs he has sorely needed for the entire season. We must worry about what will happen once the preseason 2023 top lane changes go into effect.
The buffs Nasus will receive in patch 12.19 are as follows:
- Q - SIPHONING STRIKE
- Empowered Basic Attack Range: 150 (25 bonus range) ⇒ 175 (50 bonus range)
- W - WITHER
- Attack Speed Slow: 50% of movement speed slow (23.5/29.5/35.5/41.5/47.5%) ⇒ 75% of movement speed slow (new attack speed slow values: 35.25/44.25/53.25/62.25/71.25%)
- R - FURY OF THE SANDS
- Increased Size: +30% Size ⇒ +30/35/40% Size (levels 6/11/16)
- NEW - Big Pupper: AoE radius of Nasus’ damage now increases based on his size
- Damage Tick Rate: Every 1 second ⇒ Every 0.5 second (note: overall damage is unchanged)
These changes will make the landing phase far easier for Nasus, as the added range on his Q will make it harder for him to get bullied by the enemy top lane.
On the other hand with Fury of the Sands getting changed, Nasus' scaling will also be better than before, if that was ever possible.
We shudder to think what will happen once the top lane items get added to the game, and Nasus mains get their hands on them to experiment.
