The popular League of Legends game mode known as ARAM is about to undergo some serious changes with Patch 14.23; this is mainly to fix several issues with the recently released map called Bridge of Progress.
This Arcane-themed map shows off parts of Zaun and Piltover, adding a whole new atmosphere to ARAM. The Red side, representing Zaun, would be powered by Chemtech or Shimmer energy, while the Blue side, inspired by Piltover, runs on Hextech.
Patch 14.23 addresses some of the imbalances between the Bridge of Progress, mainly the advantages that come with the Red side due to some structures and buffs. Riot Games is going to level this, so either side can have their fair chance at gaining the upper hand. First, the update brings with it new buffs associated with each side, along with a host of performance upgrades.
All ARAM mode changes coming with LoL Patch 14.23
Here are all the general improvements:
- Enhanced minion lighting and color saturation for better visibility.
- Various performance upgrades for smoother gameplay.
Death timers changes:
- Slightly increased early-game respawn times, extended by 1 second.
Key map adjustments:
- The speed pad’s movement boost has been increased.
- Removal of the barricade near the Piltover/Red side outer turret.
- Improved brightness and color adjustments on ground tiles and walls for clearer visuals.
ARAM map buff modifications:
- Buffs from the enemy inhibitor now reset upon death.
- Shortened durations for City Leader and Backup Battery buffs.
- Reduced potency and duration for Raid Boss and Mad Scientist buffs (from both inhibitor takedown and health relic pickups).
Riot has done this by removing the contentious barricade near the Red side turret and refining buff strength, in a bid to even the balance of gameplay. With these changes, along with graphical and performance tweaks, a refined experience for ARAM players looks in store.
