Riot Games introduces new ARAM map

Riot Games is releasing a major update for League of Legends' ARAM mode, which has been neglected for most of its existence. The new map features level ground and one bridge, with the theme set between the cities of Zaun and Piltover.

League of Legends' ARAM mode is finally going to get some much-needed love, as Riot Games will soon be ready to let loose with the game mode's major update.

Having been one of two permanent game modes in League since 2012-the other being Summoner's Rift - ARAM was designed to be much more casual and laid-back compared to Summoner's Rift.

In the last couple of years, ARAM has grown in popularity among players who just want a more relaxed and fun experience to enjoy with their friends. Despite this, Riot's really neglected ARAM for most of its existence, leaving it largely untouched.

However, these were welcomed changes and since then ARAM hasn't really had a major update in quite a long while. In any case, that will change soon enough as Riot rolls out with a brand-new map entirely for the game mode.

Riot Games recently released images of the ARAM map, with the apparent theme set between the cities of Zaun and Piltover. The map features level ground and one bridge-one half representing the industrial, shimmer-powered Zaun represented by purple, while on the other side is the sleek, Hextech-driven technology of Piltover on the blue side.

Everything on both sides is different in structure stylistically, with turrets, inhibitors, and Nexus-looking different with the traits of their respective city, as adapted from Arcane Season 1.

This new map comes in refreshing contrast to the well-known Howling Abyss map, and there was a lot of speculation that it may introduce some new gameplay mechanics. Yet, Riot has not said a word about changes that could be made.

Although Riot hasn't announced the official release date of the new ARAM map, the assumption is this goes live sometime in November. That probably coincides with either Patch 14.22 or 14.23, so more updates should be expected soon.
