EVO 2022 has received another participant confirmation as King of Fighter XV will be on the roster for the planned live event.
EVO, just like many other esports tournaments has run into issues with organisation due to the pandemic earlier but the organisers are hoping for a live event in 2022, which is planned to run from August 5 to 7, 2022, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Whether it happens offline with the audience or has to move online remains to be seen but some games have confirmed being on the roster so far.
The latest in line is The King of Fighters XV was released just over a month before the time of publishing this article and the game is looking to make a name for itself at the biggest fighting game tournament. Technically, King of Fighters is a brand known worldwide but the newest game in the series still has to prove itself and see how it brushes up against the most known classics.
EVO organisers have announced a total of nine games in which the competitors can strive for the top spot in the 2022 edition of the tournament:
- Street Fighter V: Championship Edition
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate Edition
- Tekken 7
- The King of Fighters XV
- Melty Blood: Type Lumina
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Granblue Fantasy Versus
- Skullgirls 2nd Encore
Keep in mind that there are still roughly five months before the tournament commences and the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic will largely dictate whether it can be held in person or not.
