Hyper Scape has entered a semi-closed beta as Ubisoft are taking cues from Riot Games and inflating Twitch viewership via drops. Some players can't join despite getting a drop though.
In order to join the Hyper Scape beta test, you will first need to connect your Ubisoft and Twitch accounts. This can be done by following the steps to link accounts, provided by Ubisoft themselves .
After that, you will need to get a Twitch drop. To get one, you will need to watch streamers who have the drops enabled. They are easily recognised in the Hyper Scape category due to the "Drops Enabled" tag next to the streamer's name but Ubisoft also provided the full list of streamers that will be eligible to provide drops .
You will get a notification on Twitch if you get a drop. If you are enjoying watching the streams, good for you. Ubisoft even spiced the experience up by adding interaction votes where viewers can alter the parameters on the battlefield, such as giving contestants infinite ammo or lower gravity.
While it sounds interesting, the feature is something that has been done before with Darwin Project, although it remains to be seen whether big streamers will stick with this game. In case they do, it could pose problems because a single streamer's large audience could impact the game and give them an advantage.
Anyway, some gamers will not be able to participate in the technical test even if they get a Twitch drop. This is because only some countries are eligible for participation. If your country is not on the list , that Twitch drop worth slightly less than nothing.
