It's raining delays in 2022 and the latest AAA title to get pushed out of this delays-infested year is Hogwarts Legacy.
WB Games announced the news today via their social media channels, confirming that the development team Avalanche Software need more time to make something truly special for all Harry Potter fans out there.
The new release date has been set for February 10, 2023, and Hogwarts Legacy will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch release date will be announced at a later date according to the devs, which means the Switch port will not launch simultaneously with other versions.
Hogwarts Legacy was originally scheduled to release in late 2021 but soon it became obvious that the game would slip into 2022. We got to see the first gameplay at PlayStation State of Play earlier this year but since then Avalanche and WB Games have not shared much about their open-world action-adventure RPG.
Guess they knew all along that their baby is not hitting that late 2022 release date.
Hopefully, we'll get to see more of Hogwarts Legacy in the coming months. Perhaps at one of the upcoming State of Plays, we get to see more of the open-world locations, gameplay mechanics and combat.
