It should not come as a surprise to anyone that Warner Bros have already greenlit the next Hogwarts Legacy game. This action-adventure RPG set in the beloved universe of Harry Potter was a massive commercial and critical success across all platforms.
On Steam, Hogwarts Legacy is still holding the record for the most concurrent players in 2023 while on platforms like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, it's one of the best-selling games of the year.
So yeah, it would be quite an odd decision to not follow up on that success with DLCs and a full-fledged sequel.
And the sequel is in the works, according to the news page MyTimeToShineHello on social media X, which cites their anonymous sources. "Sources confirmed that a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is in the works," they wrote.
Since this is the first time we're hearing about this source, we suggest you take everything with a grain of salt, until we get more concrete information. But, as we said earlier in this article, Hogwarts Legacy 2 being in development should not surprise anyone.
It will certainly be interesting to see where the sequel takes us in terms of story and characters since the first game's story was very conclusive. It's always possible that there's a new threat on the horizon and we can't wait to finally see what the team at Avalanche have in store for all Harry Potter fans.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 probably won't be coming for a couple of more years but expect it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
