Voice acting is on its way back to Guild Wars 2 Icebrood Saga's latest episodes as several indicators pointed out that the work on VO is going full speed ahead.
Guild Wars 2's Icebrood Saga felt the consequences of Covid-19 pandemic as voice acting couldn't be done since the actors weren't able to come to ArenaNet's studio due to health hazards that travelling and grouping would pose.
As a result, ArenaNet sent out audio recording kits to the actors in order to start the work on voicing the characters which was already a good sign but it became better with some of the more recent news.
Namely, ArenaNet posted a tweet with a short bit of Julie Nathanson recording parts of voiceover for her role in Icebrood Saga, noting that the actors are now in studio.
The bit that Nathanson was recording in the short video had her screaming "Come and get some!" which is a line Cinder Steeltemper yells during combat in one story instance, so this is basically the first time in a long while we hear a spoken line from Ryland's closest friend.
Another indicator that voice acting is returning soon is the fact that the new Fractal, Sunqua Peak, is releasing on September 15, 2020. The Fractal is not directly connected to Icebrood Saga but it is new content and Anet confirmed that they would record voice lines for it right before they get to work for Living Story content.
The Fractal is launching fully voiced, meaning the VO work for Icebrood Saga is well underway and is coming along just as the devs hoped - with recording being done in September so the chances are we are getting the voice lines before the next Halloween.
