April 26 is the International Chornobyl Disaster Remembrance Day and Ukrainian developers GSC Game World, who are known for the Stalker series, have today decided to release a new trailer for their highly anticipated Stalker 2 to commemorate the Chornobyl disaster.
The new trailer is quite short, clocking at 0:50, but still gives us a lot of new atmospheric shots that reveal new locations and some story cinematics which show the player talking to a friendly character before venturing into Pripyat.
We also got to see the Pripyat amusement park with the iconic Ferris Wheel which many Call of Duty players will also recognize as the iconic All Ghilied Up mission from the original Modern Warfare takes place in this abandoned town.
In the official press release, GSC Game World also say that the trailer also gives players a glimpse of the Ukrainian voiceover for the first time ever. The Ukrainian voiceover will be available alongside the English one on launch.
All in all, the new trailer is a nice little update before the bigger summer reveal, which developers promised a while back. Although the date of the new reveal is yet to be confirmed, it's safe to assume that the Xbox Games Showcase in June is probably when we'll learn more about Stalker 2.
Stalker 2 is officially coming on September 5, 2024, to PC via GOG and Steam and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
The PlayStation 5 version of the game is yet to be announced.
