After many delays and development troubles, the long-awaited Stalker 2 is finally set to release sometime in the first three months of 2024, barring any additional delays.
Ukrainian developer GSC Game World confirmed the news in the latest press release and new trailer, which gives us a first look at character called Strider, who appeared in earlier Stalker games like Call of Pripyat.
Earlier rumours suggested that Stalker 2 won't launching until 2025 due to development issues but GSC Game World quickly refuted the reports, stating that at that time, the game was still coming in 2023.
Shortly after that, it was announced that the game is being pushed to 2024 but it looks like the delay won't be that long as the game is launching in Q1.
The official press release includes some details about the game, mentioning a massive borderless open-world and a non-linear story. Recently, GSC Game World also confirmed that the story will be 40 hours long with four different endings.
All in all, the new trailer, release date and some fresh details certainly got us even more excited for this one, which has been on our radar since the official announcement. Fingers crossed that the game is indeed coming in Q1 2024 and we don't see any delays.
Stalker 2 will be launching on PC via Steam and Xbox app and Xbox Series X|S. The game is releasing day one on Xbox Game Pass.
