Elden Ring Patch 1.04 accidentally bugged some boss fights but From Software have just released a hotfix, fixing some of those issues.

The most recent patch for Elden Ring expanded Patches' questline and rebalanced many weapons and spells but at the same time, bugged some boss fights, including Malenia and Elden Beast.

Malenia's HP was not healed correctly in an online environment while Elden Beast was not working properly under certain circumstances. These bugs are now fixed along with some other minor issues. Read on for full patch notes.

Elden Ring Patch 1.04.1 patch notes:

  • Fixed a bug in which the effect duration of the Cerulean Hidden Tear was revised downward
  • Fixed a bug with Malenia, Blade of Miquella in which her HP was not healed correctly in the online multiplayer environment
  • Fixed a bug that caused some bosses to die at unintended times
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the boss "Elden Beast" from working properly under certain circumstances
  • Fixed some texts

Some may find it surprising that From Software are working on so many post-launch patches given that traditionally, they're not really known as a studio that deliver a bunch of updates once they launch the game. But on the other hand, Elden Ring is the first mainstream From Software game ever, selling over 12 million copies, so it would be a bad look for From if they didn't work so hard on fixing the bugs and optimising the performance.
