According to sales tracking firm the NPD Group, Elden Ring has already sold enough units to become the best selling game of 2022 in the United States so far.
From Software's action-RPG Elden Ring is a megahit. Not only that the game took the spotlight from every other major release since its launch, but it also sold enough to become the best selling game in the United States in 2022 so far, which is certainly an incredible achievement.
The data comes from the industry-tracking firm the NPD group, who revealed fresh info about the video game sales over the last couple of weeks. Analyst Mat Piscatella reveals that From Software's mammoth is also the second-best title in terms of launch sales, coming behind only Call of Duty: Vanguard.
Additionally, Elden Ring is the fifth best-selling game over the last 12 months, despite only being out for a couple of weeks. Elden Ring already generated more revenue than Battlefield 2042, Far Cry 6 and Resident Evil Village.

Elden Ring received glowing reviews from both the critics and players. The game is praised for its incredible open-world and scale as well as signature gameplay.
Some players did criticise the developer for PC port issues that are yet to be fixed, despite a couple of patches.
