EA Sports F1 25 owners have plenty to look forward to next month as the 2026 Season Pack launches on June 3. Coinciding with Formula One introducing their brand new regulations, Codemasters is rolling out improved PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) support for PS5 Pro gamers.
As part of the latest round of free updates, F1 25 will benefit from the new version of PSSR. This will allow PlayStation 5 Pro owners to see sharper, crisper graphics without compromising on performance that EA SPORTS F1 has become known for.
Alongside graphical upgrades, players will receive new teams, driver line-ups and gameplay features inspired by the upcoming 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship.
Enhanced PSSR Improves Visual Quality on PS5 Pro
Codemasters Technical Producer Si Lumb explained that making this upgrade easy was made simple with assistance from Sony. The studio noted that F1 25 already bears the PS5 Pro Enhanced logo and will continue to receive visual upgrades via the 2026 Season Pack.
Codemasters says that PSSR uplift brings an improved resolution to the game without affecting its locked 60fps framerate in Quality Mode. Additional benefits for PS5 Pro owners include ray-traced reflections, dynamic diffuse global illumination, and ray-traced global illumination.
Of course, Performance Mode still supports 120Hz screens, and owners with TVs that support the mode can continue making use of F1 25’s 8K mode.
Codemasters says the new Madring track will serve as the ideal course to take in while experiencing all these improvements. Built from the ground up with next-gen technologies in mind, the new high speed street circuit is designed to showcase improved reflections, lighting effects, and image definition.
As for non-visual improvements, players can expect the full 2026 Formula One season as well as its new manufacturers Audi and Cadillac, updated regulations, refreshed line-ups, and active aerodynamics with the 2026 Season Pack.
Players can further take charge of their careers with additions to Career Mode and My Team.Players who haven’t picked up F1 25 yet can head to the F1 25: 2026 Season Edition, which contains the base game and all the included content from the 2026 Season Pack. The 2026 Season Pack update is available worldwide June 3, 2026 for PlayStation 5 only.
