It has been reported that E3 2019's attendance numbers are slightly lower than those of E3 2018, but still well above the rest of its predecessors. The difference is somewhere around 3,000 people, so it's still good all things considered.

And when we say 'all things considered', we chiefly refer to Sony's decision to skip E3 2019 , as the company said they're looking for new ways to entertain and engage their fans, and they're not alone.

After skipping E3 2018, EA did a similar thing on E3 2019, focusing on EA Play instead and preferring meeting rooms to show floor presence. Activision did the same, bar the EA Play component.

Anyway, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has revealed that E3 2019 drew a crowd of 66,100 people, some 3,000 less than in 2018.

Around 200 exhibitors attended the show, which is about the same as in 2018, and the ESA said that a quarter of exhibitors have actually had their debut E3 appearances in that capacity.

There are some additional statistics too, such as the one that 3.2 million conversations on Twitter were related to E3, which is not at all surprising considering the type of show we've had this year.

The E3 Coliseum show had as many as 1.2 million viewers tuning in to see the likes of Bethesda's Todd Howard and Jack Black of Jablinski Games .

ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis said, "E3 is where the video game industry's biggest brands and biggest fans converge to shape the future. E3's energy and excitement were felt in the halls, on the floors, and press conferences. We broke records, saw incredible innovations, and had breathtaking moments that entertained the world. Congratulations to our creative and innovative exhibitors, members, and partners who made such a fantastic E3 possible."

As you'd expect, many fans, chiefly Sony ones, insist that E3 2019 was worthless without the maker of their favourite console, but we beg to disagree. I mean, didn't they see that dude come out on stage and talk about cyber-something, what was that again?
