According to Take-Two Interactive's latest earnings report released just recently, the new installment in the Civilization franchise, Civilization 7, will be released by the end of Q4 of the current fiscal year, which means by the end of March 31, 2025.
We knew until today that Civilization 7 would be released sometime during 2025, but without a specific release date. Of course, this still isn't a specific date, more like a particular window of release, but it is far more precise than earlier.
However, the precise release date should be released very soon, during the Future Games Show, scheduled for August 21, 2024. Take-Two Interactive promised to show us the first gameplay reveal trailer as well, and this reveal will take place during the opening night of the show. The Future Games Show will be part of this year's Gamescom.
The official description for Civilization 7 reveals that the game will pretty much follow in the footsteps of its predecessors, with a lot of new features and improvements, of course. “Establish your civilization, construct cities and architectural wonders to expand your territory, conquer or cooperate with rival civilizations in pursuit of prosperity, and explore the far reaches of the unknown world. Will you build an empire that stands the test of time?”
