Guardians who are looking to enjoy some more of the improved Trials of Osiris might be surprised to find a few new rules in Destiny 2's weekly PvP mode.
Trials of Osiris saw a massive resurgence of players when Bungie made it more accessible to just about everyone but also took away from some of the prestige that Flawless carried before. That said, the vast majority of the player base is happy with the new system but the devs are not done experimenting with the mode yet.
When Trials return to Destiny 2 on September 24, 2021, the mode will be slightly different.
Trials Labs, the initiative to innovate in the activity, will be activated this week in order to test out the Capture Zone sub-mode. The activity will remain in the Elimination format but much like Survival tiebreakers, it will now have a singular zone that can be captured.
The first team to capture it wins the round but the zone will not be active from the get-go. It will take 30 seconds to activate and let the Guardians commence capturing. On the flip side, everyone will be able to see immediately where the zone will spawn so they can adjust their tactics accordingly. The zone will initially be in the middle of the map but it will rotate the location during the match.
You can also grab double Trials rank points this week so this is probably going to be the best weekend ever since the mode was introduced to D2.
