Bungie revealed more about the upcoming transmog system in Destiny 2, which will be called Armor Synthesis, along with how much we will be able to do it without paying per season.

Many called it as soon as transmog system was announced for Destiny 2 and the latest TWAB confirmed it - the system will be limited in order to push players into buying Silver.

According to the devs' own info, we will be able to convert a total of 20 pieces of armour into ornaments in the inaugural season but will be limited to just 10 after that. These numbers are per class so at least the players won't have to share the limited ornament sets between the characters.

Beyond that, you will have to purchase tokens from Eververse, at the cost of 1,000 Silver for a set of five. In other words, it costs less than buying an Eververse ornament set but also costs as much as a Season Pass.

Normally, this wouldn't present that much of an issue - since the tokens can be bought in the microtransaction shop, it's logical that there would have to be some sort of incentive for spending money. However, Destiny 2 already costs about $80 per year if you want access to the content released in that year.

If the pricing and limits on transmog tokens have not disappointed you thus far, you might find yourself gutted if you were among those who purchased the infamous Dawning glows back in the day.

Yup, that pile of Bright Dust you spent on them will still be for naught.
