Guardians will have a new avenue in the race to max out their Light level in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen as the campaign missions are getting more functionality.

Bungie previously announced that the Legendary difficulty will offer more loot in the story missions of The Witch Queen campaign but Destiny 2 players were positively surprised after the latest TWAB where they learned that they can skip a lot of grind that way.

The grind we're referring to is the Light, or Power, level that is definitely not the highlight of most players' pursuits in Destiny 2. In total, there are 150 levels between the new floor of 1350 and soft cap of 1500 in The Witch Queen but apparently, completing all the campaign missions on Legendary difficulty will yield a full set of 1520 gear, completely skipping the soft cap grind and almost half of the Power cap grind, which sits at 1550.

On top of that, Legendary players can earn Throne World armour quicker than the other players, get an associated emblem and triumph, become eligible for exclusive Bungie rewards and a piece of The Witch Queen Exotic armour that is normally found only in PED Lost Sector drops.

That said, it appears that you will still have to grind a bit in order to avoid getting wiped by overleveled mobs but Bungie didn't specify the numbers here.

Either way, this is more than campaigns offered before so it's definitely a step in the right direction.
