Shatterdive is one of those things terrorising PvP players in Destiny 2 but it seems like that era may be coming to an end with a future patch.
Bungie posted their plans for the future of Destiny 2 balancing, including the nerfs to outlier Stasis abilities and it's the Hunters who are in the balance team's crosshairs this time around.
Shatterdive is certainly in the spotlight here since this is the problem that countless PvP players pointed out and the devs are finally nerfing it, about two months after release.
The melee alteration will now have damage falloff against unfrozen target which should make it less of a headache for those who haven't been sentenced to death, which is usually called being frozen in Destiny 2.
Anyway, at the maximum range of the ability, it will now deal just five damage, as opposed to 50 which was the case previously. While not a one-shot kill, it's still a significant amount that makes cleanup easier.
While those two nerfs are interesting by themselves, the damage reduction nerf takes the cake - Hunters no longer have 50 per cent damage reduction during the ability cast as it's been reduced to 25 per cent.
However, the nerfs continue through the reduction of Whisper of Fissures' usefulness. It will now deal up to 30 and a minimum of four damage against non-super players. Against those in super, Fissures will deal just 16 damage maximum, with a minimum of meagre two damage.
Detonation radius has also been hit against other players, with a 10 per cent reduction.
These nerfs are expected to go live in patch 3.0.2.
