Crossplay will be arriving to Destiny 2 later in 2021, not with the start of Season 13. However, Bungie is trying to make the upcoming balancing less of a headache by consolidating the weapon behaviour between keyboard and mouse and gamepad users.
You may not be aware by now but console players have much more different weapon behaviour than PC players do. For example, barely anyone is using SMGs due to insane recoil, which is not something you see on PC. We just don't use it there because it's either shotgun or getting destroyed in close quarters.
Anyway, these differences based on platform choice will be lowered on Season 13 as recoil difference will be decreased from about 40 to roughly 20 per cent.
In other words, keyboard and mouse users will see increased recoil on the following weapon archetypes:
- Auto Rifle
- Scout Rifle
- Pulse Rifle
- Submachine Gun
- Hand Cannon
- Machine Gun
However, SMGs are getting buffed on all platforms, by reducing camera movement from firing the weapon by 24 per cent. Overall, this should mean that all platforms will actually see less recoil from SMGs.
Mouse and keyboard users will get a separate recoil balance pass for machine guns and pulse rifles, with 9.5 and 7 per cent lower camera movement when firing, respectively.
In other news, Rocket Launchers will get a 30 per cent damage increase so they will probably be useful in PvE again.
