SMG nerfs are coming soon to Destiny 2, along with a slew of other balance changes aimed at equalising the playing field in PvP.
Aggressive SMGs (750 RPM) have been wreaking havoc in Destiny 2 PvP lately, with just about any weapon from the archetype being very powerful, although Ikelos SMG stood out even amongst those peers.
The reason happened to be a hidden stability buff that was equal to Zen Moment perk at max strength, leading the weapon to be tamer than one would expect from the Aggressive Frame or Ikelos' stats.
Bungie will remove the hidden buff shortly and there is another, currently unannounced, nerf that is coming to the entire Aggressive Frame SMG family.
Rapid Fire Fusion Rifles will receive a significant buff that will cause them to kill a Guardian in seven bolts during a burst as the total burst damage went from 245 to 260.
Trace Rifles will go from 12 to 12.5 damage per hit in PvP and crit damage will move from 16.8 to 16.9 and having 100 stability on one will reduce flinch by an additional 10 per cent.
Rapid Fire Sniper rifles will have 50 per cent less recoil in all game modes while the PvE side will also get an additional 30 per cent ammo in reserves since the weapon requires more shots to kill a target than other SR frames.
As for Exotics, the changes are smaller but still significant:
- Final Warning can no longer mark people through Titan barricades
- Tarrabah receives one per cent Ravenous Beast energy from getting hit, down from three
- Revision Zero now resets Fourth Time's The Charm count upon entering Hunter's Trance
