Guardians were on track to fail the community quest in the latest edition of Destiny 2's Dawning event but Bungie jumped in with a hotfix that should make it doable.
Community quests are not often failed in Destiny 2 but the players do get frequent pushes from the developers. This was the case with the Dawning 2020 as well, where the Guardians were on track to fail the quest but Bungie then intervened.
Dawning Spirit will now be earned three times as fast for the duration of the event which will probably mean we are going to get that community quest done and reap the rewards from it.
That said, it is also high time Bungie tried to shake things up. The trend of players giving up on community milestones in these events is just ramping up and it doesn't have much to do with high bars. Most of the issues lie in stale content that we are forced to replay over and over and players just can't be bothered anymore.
Indifference to receiving a reward in a looter shooter is rather worrisome and the fact that Bungie put expiration dates on weapons and armour could easily mean this issue will spill outside of community events.
Furthermore, Bright Dust changes that made obtaining cosmetics much more difficult without purchasing Silver and the Season Pass are also taking out the possibility of players sticking around to make their perfect sets of eye candy.
