League of Legends Patch 26.10 isn’t just about Summoner’s Rift tuning either, Riot Games is altering a few systems over in ARAM too. These upcoming changes look to improve match flow while deflating one of the mode’s biggest scaling champions.
The largest ARAM-specific change to a champion in Patch 26.10 buffs Viktor. Riot is nerfing several of the large damage modifiers that were placed on him while drastically changing how Viktor collects passive stacks in ARAM.
Post-Patch 26.10, Viktor’s damage dealt will increase from 95% of normal to 100% while his damage taken modifier is being decreased from 105% to baseline 100%. Where Riot is really picking his poison is with his passive.
Champion kills will now only provide 8 passive stacks instead of 20, while cannon minions will give him 5 passive stacks rather than 10. As compensation, Viktor will gain passive stacks from a new method while in ARAM.
Every five seconds, Viktor will gain 1 passive stack automatically if he’s on an ARAM map. This seems like a method of evening out his power spike rather than allowing him to skyrocket off early team fights.Patch 26.10 also grants players who don’t want to risk taking a Bilgewater Cannon more leniency. The movement lockout players suffered from when another player on their team took the cannon is being decreased from 2 seconds to just half a second.
Players will also no longer experience a movement lockout after they land from firing the cannon. This should help players better rotate after firing as well as eliminate some of the cluttered pathing that occurred when slamming the cannon button.
These ARAM updates compliment the champion and systems buffs and nerfs coming in Patch 26.10 quite well. It looks like Riot is trying to make everything feel a little more fluid while removing some of ARAM’s more egregious interactions.
