I know the announcement of the Lord of the Rings game this morning is probably a bigger news for many gamers but guys, in the same post, Warhorse just announced a third Kingdom Come game too. Isn't this the best news of the year for everyone who enjoys a bit of Polish role playing experience?
The studio announced both projects simultaneously on their official X, keeping details to a minimum on both fronts. What we know is simply that it exists and that Warhorse is making it and that they will tell us more when they are ready. However, an "Adventure" is an interesting word choice.
The upcoming Kingdom Come project was described only as a "new adventure," rather than explicitly being labelled another RPG. That wording has already led to speculation that Warhorse could potentially be experimenting with a different genre while remaining within the Kingdom Come universe. It could just as easily be a straightforward sequel with a deliberately understated announcement, but it is a notable difference from how you might expect a direct follow-up to be described.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was one of the more impressive RPGs of its release period, building considerably on the foundations of the original. A follow-up of any kind, in whatever form it takes, is good news.
But if I was a bettin man, my money would be on the third game with Henry as the protagonist, or at least a game where Henry and Hans have a major roles to play.
We will update this article when more information is available.
