Bungie introduced a way to choose weapon perks with Umbral Enhancement in Destiny 2 but it wasn't working correctly for some weapons. It's getting fixed soon along with several other issues.

Umbral focusing in Destiny 2 is certainly a welcome addition but Umbral Enhancement offered weapon versatility that was rarely available before. Certain Forge bounties would offer weapons with perks to choose from but we were limited as to how many we could get by both the necessary resources and those weapons being tied to grindy bounties.

Umbral Enhancement III was an improvement on that system since all the weapons that are in focused Engram loot pool were made eligible for perk choice, even if you got them from sources other than focused Engrams. However, some of the weapon rewards and wouldn't offer the second perk to choose from, but Bungie are going to address that problem on Tuesday, July 9, 2020.

Another thing that is being fixed is the ability to collect 15 motes during Contact public event, without having the appropriate perk in the Prismatic Recaster. Pretty much everyone unlocked the perk by now so it's not going to affect the majority of the player base but players who started the season later than others might see more difficulty in completing the activity.

While not a fix, a certain change to Vanguard weekly bounties will absolutely be a welcome one. Bounties that required 150 Scorn, Cabal, Vex and Fallen kills will be removed from the Season of Arrivals pool so players will no longer need to complete specific Strikes or depend on luck of the draw when entering the Vanguard playlist.
