CD Projekt Red have officially announced the first expansion for their RPG Cyberpunk 2077 named Phantom Liberty. The expansion will add a new story, characters, locations and items among other things.
The developer say Phantom Liberty is a spy-thriller set in an all-new district of the Night City. It's scheduled for release sometime in 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
It looks like that the last-gen version is not in the works so PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will sadly miss out on this one.
CD Projekt Red also released the official teaser, showcasing some of the new locations that players will visit but also new characters that will appear in this expansion.
It's safe to say that the expansion looks absolutely stunning, which is not surprising given that the original game is still one of the best-looking titles on PC and current-gen consoles.
As for the actual story, we don't know much but the video reveals that V swears to serve the New United States of America, so we assume the story is set after the events in Cyberpunk 2077.
In addition to the announcement of the new expansion, CD Projekt Red also confirmed that a brand new patch for the game is now live, bringing Edgerunners-themed content and more:
- Roach Race mini-game (also on app stores)
- Martinez jacket
- Transmog feature
- New Ripperdoc additions
- New photo mode additions
All in all, that's a lot of exciting news for all Cyberpunk 2077 fans who will soon get to play a brand new story set in the Cyberpunk world.
Cyberpunk 2077 might have launched as a disaster but it's safe to say that with regular post-launch updates, CD Projekt Red have managed to fix the majority of issues and add more content for all players.
